Meeting Description:
We are organizing the 2nd International Sociolinguistics Research
Symposium on 21-23 November 2024 to examine the social dynamics of
language and its role in social interaction. The symposium aims to
bring together researchers from linguistics, sociology, psychology,
anthropology, communication, literature, and other related disciplines
to share new knowledge and develop different perspectives.
Call for Papers:
In this context, some of the topics that the symposium, which is open
to all studies related to the discipline of Sociolinguistics, will
address but will not be limited to are as follows:
Language and (Im)Politeness, Language Variation and Change, Language
Attitudes and Ideologies, Language and Identity, Language
Socialization, Language and Education, Bilingualism and
Multilingualism, Digital Language and Society, Language and Social
Class, Language and Media, Conversation Analysis and Discourse
Analysis, Language and Ethnicity, Code Switching and Translanguaging,
Language and Gender, Language and Age, Language Policy and Planning,
Linguistic Landscapes Studies, Language Acquisition, Language Learning
and Teaching, Language and Culture, Language and Power, Language and
Workplace, Language Contact, Language Shift
The symposium aims to present current research, promote knowledge
sharing, and bring together researchers working in sociolinguistics to
encourage possible future collaborations. Providing participants with
the opportunity to present their research to relevant experts and the
academic community, will allow new knowledge to emerge and new
perspectives to be developed in this field.
At the Sociolinguistics Research Symposium, we are pleased and honored
to welcome academics, researchers, students, and other interested
professionals who want to understand the impact of language on society
better and share their current research.
