Meeting Description:
The international scientific conference held at the Faculty of Modern
Languages & Literatures, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań marks
the 20th anniversary of the Institute of Applied Linguistics and will
focus on the theme of change and its impact on applied linguistics.
Amidst ongoing political conflicts, wars, climate change, and
advancements in science and technology, linguistics encounters
numerous challenges that redefine borders, drive migrations, and
affect various linguistic domains. The conference will delve into
these challenges through the thematic panels including but not limited
to multilingualism, language in contact, language and culture, foreign
language teaching, intercultural studies, translation studies,
language corpora and databases, language documentation, communicative
competence in digital era. Join us as we explore these critical issues
and their implications for the field of applied linguistics.

The topic of the conference is change and its impact on applied
linguistics in the broadest sense. In times of ongoing political
conflicts and wars that result in, among other things, the

times of climate change, the development of science and technology
linguistics faces many challenges. These challenges touch on different
areas of linguistics and we will discuss them in the following
thematic panels:

> Communication and Cultures in Contact in the Age of Globalization,
> Foreign Language Teaching from the Perspective of (Inter)cultural
Studies,
> Translation Studies in the Face of New Technologies,
> Language Corpora and Databases: Design, Data Collection, Annotation,
Management, and Applications.
