Meeting Description:
The 22 Old-World Conference in Phonology (OCP22) will be held from
5th-7th February 2025 at the Amsterdam Centre for Language and
Communication.
OCP was founded in 2003 by the Leiden University Centre for
Linguistics and the Meertens Institute. Since then, it has grown into
an annual event that attracts both junior and senior international
researchers in phonology and related fields. The research presented at
OCP conferences covers both experimental and theoretical discussions
in and surrounding phonology. Previous OCP gatherings have taken place
in many cities, primarily in Europe, most recently in Leipzig
(https://home.uni-leipzig.de/ocp21/index.html).
This will be an in-person only conference.
Our invited speakers are:
- Eva Zimmermann (Leipzig)
- Nancy Kula (Leiden)
- Patrick Honeybone (Edinburgh)
The Leiden University Centre for Linguistics will host a satellite
workshop on Tuesday, 4 February 2025. Details and call for abstracts
will be announced soon.
Call for Papers:
We welcome submissions on any topic in phonology from any theoretical
perspective and methodology. We invite abstracts for talks (20
minutes, followed by 10 minutes of discussion) and posters. OCP22
cannot guarantee a particular presentation format, but you may express
preference for a talk or a poster during abstract submission.
Abstract guidelines
• Size A4, max. 2 pages (including references, tables, and figures)
• 12 pt Times New Roman font,
• 2.5 cm margins (1 in.),
• the authors must not be identifiable from the abstract,
• abstracts must be submitted in PDF format.
Abstracts not following these guidelines will be rejected.
Submissions from students and early career researchers are
particularly welcomed. Each paper has to have a unique first author,
i.e., you cannot be a first author of two abstracts. All abstracts
will be subject to blind peer review.
Submission opens: 15 June 2024
Deadline for abstract submission: 1 September 2024
Notification of acceptance: 1 November 2024
