Description:

The Department of Romance Studies, University of Graz,
is seeking a Research Associate (PhD candidate, 75% of a full-time
position, limited to 3 years,
starting at 1st September 2024 or later) for the FWF project
“The Second Way: Prepositional Adverbials in Primary Dialects of
Romance”

Your Profile:
•       Completed university degree in Romance linguistics (Master or
equivalent).
•       Excellent knowledge of at least one Romance language,
preferably two.
•       Proficiency in standard IT skills (including Excel).

Your Responsibilities:
•       Thematically, the project focuses on prepositional adverbials
such as
        Cat. a les bones, Fr. à la légère, Friaul. dal ciert, It. di
sicuro, Pt. às cegas, Rom. în clar,
        Sp. a la fija, etc.
•       These adverbials will be investigated through field research
using questionnaires in primary
        dialects across Romance in Europe.
•       You will be part of an international research team.
•       The position requires covering the comprehensive Romance goals
of the project in a
        collaborative manner, meaning you should specialize in at
least one of the following areas:
        Italian-Romanian, Spanish-Portuguese, French.
•       A project outline can be provided upon request.
