Meeting Description:

The 5th Meeting of Ethnomethodological Conversation Analysis (V EnACE)
will take place from March 19 to 21, 2025 at the Federal University of
Minas Gerais, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. In addition to the main
program, there will also be:

- Pre-event activities: free mini-courses and workshops on March 17
and 18 (separate program with limited places);

- Cultural activity on March 22 (program under construction).

The event is coordinated by the Federal University of Minas Gerais
(UFMG) and the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), in
partnership with the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), the
Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), and the University of Brasília
(UnB).

The 5th EnACE aims to bring together researchers, students, and
professionals in Conversation Analysis, Interactional Linguistics, and
related fields to reflect on and discuss theoretical and
methodological issues, as well as to present the results of empirical
studies on talk-inl-interaction and analyze data from ongoing studies.

Human interactions are a primary and fundamental multimodal
organization. To create these interactions, participants make use of
language through various verbal, prosodic and visual-bodily resources,
as well as physical artifacts from contemporary society.

The growing interest in investigating these multimodal resources,
capturing video interactions, transcribing them, and facing the
accelerated changes brought about by new technologies in the field of
human communication, as well as in data processing by researchers, has
inspired the theme chosen of this edition: “Revisiting Paradigms,
Tools, and Methodologies.”
