Description:
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a
full-time, tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor of
English, in the Department of English, with a specialization in
Professional Writing, specifically with a focus on AI writing
applications. The preferred start date is August 2025. This is a
nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be
performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities
- Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in professional
writing, including prompt engineering, writing with AI, digital tools
for writing, digital applications for creative writers and first-year
composition.
- Service to department, college, university, and profession.
- Scholarship/Research expectations include maintaining a steady
research and publication agenda on applications of AI and writing
technologies to professional writing, linguistics, industry, and/or
other humanistic and computational fields of study or professional
work.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC
Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in English,
Professional Writing, Linguistics, or a related discipline, is
required. The required degree must be earned by the start date.
Preferred Qualifications Include
- Experience with computational text analysis or computational
linguistics
- Language-based generative AI programming experience
- Evidence of scholarship/creative activities in multimodal
professional writing
- Interdisciplinary interests and experiences working across
departments in humanities and computational sciences
- Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
- Record of past teaching at graduate and undergraduate levels AND/OR
industry experience in related fields
- Research collaborator with faculty in writing and linguistics AND/OR
working professionals in related fields
- Record of interest in the ethics of AI uses
