Meeting Description:

The Studentische Tagung Sprachwissenschaft (StuTS) is a conference
organised by students for students of all linguistic disciplines.
Since 1987, the StuTS supports young linguistic scholars in their
endeavour to take part in academic life, present their own ideas, and
network with other students of linguistics. The location of the StuTS
depends on the volunteering organising team. It is held biannually and
is visited by up to 180 participants from Germany and many other
(mostly European) countries.
The conference, centered on presentations, workshops, and poster
sessions led by students, aims to foster learning and collaboration.
Established scholars from the host university are also invited as
keynote speakers. Additionally, there is a social programme where
everyone can engage in discussions and networking. Traditionally,
participants receive accommodation, and lunch for a small fee in order
to make the conference accessible to everyone regardless of academic
background and financial oppurtunities.

Call for Papers:

Once again, it is time for the Student Conference Linguistics /
Studentische Tagung Sprachwissenschaft (StuTS)! Its 76th iteration
will be hosted from 21/11/24 to 23/11/24 in Marburg, Germany (with
20/11 and 24/11 as arrival and departure days). The StuTS is a
recurring conference organised by and for students. Since 1987, the
StuTS supports young linguistic scholars in their endeavour to take
part in academic life, present their own ideas, and network with other
students of linguistics.

The conference, centered on presentations, workshops, and poster
sessions led by students, aims to foster learning and collaboration.
Established scholars from the host university are also invited as
keynote speakers. Additionally, there is a social programme where
everyone can engage in discussions and networking. Teams of student
volunteers from the university coordinate the organisation of the
conference. Traditionally, participants receive accommodation, and
lunch for a small fee (40€).

We invite all students interested in linguistics and languages
regardless of their level of study to participate in the 76th StuTS in
Marburg. You can come without presenting anything, but we would be
happy to listen to any of your work. Do you have a term paper or
thesis you would like to present? You can also showcase work in
progress or linguistic topics you’re interested in. You can either
hold a 20 minute talk, give a one hour workshop or present a poster.
Everything is welcome - the topics can include anything broadly
related to linguistics and language. Your work can be presented in
both English or German. The language of the conference will be English
and most participants will also be able to speak German.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to
contact us: stuts76 at stuts.de.
