Meeting Description:
An academic environment specifically designed to enhance students'
presentation skills through the defense of their research and the
development of persuasive arguments related to their field of study.
While primarily aimed at students of linguistics and literature, this
forum also welcomes presentations from other disciplines that
intersect with language and literature. The program is tailored for
both undergraduate and master's level students.
Call for Papers:
We invite undergraduate and master's students in linguistics,
literature, and related fields to submit proposals for the upcoming
academic forum. Presentations are welcome in Spanish, Portuguese, and
English.
Eligibility:
- Open to students in linguistics, literature, and related
disciplines.
- Individual and co-authored presentations allowed (max. 2 authors
per paper; 4 for posters).
- Submissions must be in PDF format.
- Participation limited to one presentation per category (paper,
creative work, etc.), except in co-authorship.
- Formal certificates will be awarded to participants. Advisors may
also request certificates.
- Submission fee: $200 MXN or equivalent in USD.
Topics:
Literature: Critical studies on literature (Spanish, Mexican, Latin
American, foreign, classical, contemporary, etc.), comparative
literature, cultural studies, queer literature, children's literature.
Linguistics: Analysis of linguistic levels (phonetics, morphology,
syntax, etc.), descriptive studies of Spanish and indigenous
languages, interdisciplinary studies (psycholinguistics,
sociolinguistics, etc.), applied linguistics (computational, forensic,
didactics, etc.).
Common Areas: Rhetoric, discourse analysis, meaning and semiotics,
language and literature didactics, new technologies etc.
Submission Guidelines:
- Papers: Submit a 250-word abstract in Times New Roman,
double-spaced, including a clear objective, theoretical framework, and
5 references. Include title, author(s), institution, and research
area.
- Posters: Presentation of up to 15 minutes. Include introduction,
objectives, methodology, analysis, results, and bibliography.
- Creative Works: Poetry, short stories, fanfic, etc. Maximum of 10
minutes reading time. Submit in PDF format.
- Cultural Projects: Include a description, objectives, members, and
process. Submit in Word format, 5-7 pages.
