The Department of Linguistics at Seoul National University invites
applications for an open-rank, tenure-track position starting
September 1, 2026. The appointment will be made in the area of
Syntax/Syntax-Semantics interface. We seek applicants whose work
connects strongly with other areas of linguistics and/or adjacent
fields. We also encourage a range of focuses and methodological
approaches, including (but by no means limited to) fieldwork,
experimental studies, computational modeling and focused theoretical
work. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in linguistics or a related
field by the time of application. Faculty responsibilities include
teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level and conducting
research in the area of specialization/competence.
Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, 2-4 original research
papers (journal publication or proceedings paper), research and
teaching plans, and contact information for at least three referees.
In addition, the application should include a personal statement
outlining the applicant's research interests, previous achievements,
and plans, as well as the broader questions that this research
promises to engage with.

applications will begin on January 15, 2026. To ensure full
consideration, applications should be completed by this date.
