Description:
The following position is available at the Chair of General
Linguistics (Prof. Gerhard Jäger), Department of Linguistics of the
Faculty of Humanities for the period of April 1st 2026 to September
30th 2027.
Substitute Professorship in General Linguistics (m/f/d, salary scale
W3, 100%)
The employment will be on a non-tariff contractual basis. Remuneration
will follow the W3-salary scale (as for regular professorships). The
teaching load is 9 contact hours per week (German: 9
Semesterwochenstunden).
Duties: Representation of the field of General Linguistics in teaching
(9 contact hours per week) in all currently offered degree programs
(BA / MA General Linguistics), including examinations at all levels
and supervision of BA and MA theses; research activities; and the
proper performance of all administrative duties associated with the
position.
Requirements: Qualification to represent the field of General
Linguistics in broad coverage, demonstrated by an excellent doctorate
in a relevant field and a habilitation (German: Habilitationsschrift)
or recognized equivalent qualification in the form of internationally
visible publications, and teaching experience.
