such as psychology, neuroscience, computer science, or linguistics is
required.

Description:
The Department of Cognitive Science at Johns Hopkins University seeks
candidates for a tenured / tenure-track faculty position in language
using approaches such as theoretical linguistics, language
development/acquisition, fieldwork, psycholinguistics, and
neurobiology of language. The department seeks candidates with
cutting-edge research programs in any area of linguistic investigation
(including morphology, phonetics, phonology, pragmatics, prosody,
semantics, sign/speech perception, syntax, or typology). Candidates
should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring, to
collaboration with members of the department and related departments
or centers (Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering,
Philosophy, and Psychological & Brain Sciences), and to engagement
with university-wide initiatives in AI and Neuroscience.
We anticipate hiring at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, but
will also consider exceptional candidates at the Assistant Professor
stage, especially those nearing completion of their tenure review. All
appointees at the Associate and Full Professor level are expected to
be pre-eminent experts in their field. All candidates should be
committed to both research and teaching excellence. All appointees are
expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level.
