Focus: Foundations/Methods (for introductory classes),
Syntax/Morphology, Semantics/Pragmatics, Linguistic Creativity (the
research focus of the Collaborative Research Center 1646)
Description:
We are delighted to announce that the next DGfS Summer School 2026
will be taking place at Bielefeld University 10th-21st August, 2026.
The summer school is directed at early career researchers (advanced MA
students, doctoral researchers & postdocs).
We are offering 32 1-week courses on a variety of topics in
Syntax/Morphology, Semantics/Pragmatics, Linguistic Creativity and
Foundational courses. Participants can attend up to 4 courses a week,
with maximally 8 courses in two weeks.
Each course will run from Monday to Friday for 1.5 hours per day in 4
parallel sessions.
We are currently putting together an exciting lineup of lecturers.

Tuition: €140-€200
Tuition Explanation: For both weeks: 200€ for regular participants,
190€ for DGfS members
For one week: 150€ for regular participants, 140€ for DGfS members
Financial Aid Applications accepted until 01-Feb-2026
The DGfS offers two different types of scholarships:
- one for international students (application deadline February 1st,
2026),
- one for national students (application deadline April 15th, 2026).
