The Grammar & Text Group of the Linguistics Research Centre of the
NOVA University Lisbon (CLUNL) announces the organization of the 9th
International Conference on Grammar & Text – GRATO 2025, themed
Challenges and Perspectives in Grammar & Text.
The conference will take place in Lisbon at NOVA FCSH from 11 to 12
September 2025, in a hybrid format.
The Keynote Speaker will be Elena de Miguel (Universidad Autónoma de
Madrid, Facultad de Filosofía y Letras).
Proposals are invited for papers that explore the intersection of
grammar, text, gender issues, and technological innovations.
The proposals for papers to be submitted must focus on one of the
following thematic axes:
Axis 1: Linguistic forms, constructions, and processes: Plural
approaches and new perspectives in morphology, semantics, and
discourse analysis.
Axis 2: Linguistic processes and the functioning of texts:
Multidimensional and interactionist approaches to the analysis and
functioning of different genres.
Axis 3: Grammar, text, and gender issues: Analysing grammatical
structures and textual constructions that either perpetuate or
challenge the notion of ‘gender’ in linguistic contexts.
Axis 4: Grammar, text, and new technological challenges: Technological
innovations in grammatical and textual analysis, along with the
ethical and other implications arising from these innovations.
The working languages of the Conference are Portuguese, Spanish,
French and English.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Registration will be open from 2 June to 30 July 2025.
The conference fee is 80 euros, with a 50% discount for students.
