Meeting Description:
CogSURF is Montréal’s largest undergraduate conference in cognitive
science. Open to all disciplines and all universities, the Forum
brings together top undergraduate researchers in the city’s heart to
share discoveries, contribute perspectives, and network with leading
industry professionals. CogSURF is dedicated to elevating
undergraduate voices and breaking down traditional academic silos for
the next generation of machine learning engineers, linguists,
behavioural scientists, thinkers, and more.
Breakthroughs in our understanding of the mind demand work at the
intersection of the canonical disciplines. At CogSURF, we unite
passionate undergraduate students from Montréal’s leading universities
to exchange ideas and tackle some of humanity’s greatest unsolved
questions.
This year's host institution is McGill University. For over a century,
McGill University has stood as a leading Canadian
institution in the field of cognitive science. From the field’s
pioneers, like Wilder Penfield and Brenda Milner, to the
groundbreaking
expertise of the world-renowned Montreal Neurological Institute,
McGill University and its vibrant student community welcome all who
seek a deeper understanding of the mind!
CogSURF 2025 will feature a range of events designed to highlight
student research and facilitate networking with leading experts in the
field. Attendees can look forward to undergraduate poster sessions,
three-minute thesis-style presentations, a keynote address by a
renowned cognitive scientist, and a panel discussion featuring
industry and academic leaders.
The Cognitive Science Undergraduate Research Forum (CogSURF) is firmly
committed to upholding standards of equity, diversity, and inclusion–
ensuring a safe space for all staff and attendees is a top priority.
Our goal is to ensure every participant feels safe and heard
throughout our hosted events. CogSURF is proud to promote different
perspectives of students and faculty from varying academic and
personal backgrounds, and encourages an open and inclusive dialogue
between all participants and staff. If you have any questions or
concerns pertaining to equity and accessibility, please feel free to
contact chair.cogsurf at gmail.com.
