Description:

Doctoral position in project C10 | CRC 1252 Prominence in Language
Project C10 “Propositional Anaphors in Negative Polar Contexts” of the
Collaborative Research Centre 1252 “Prominence in Language” is seeking
to fill a doctoral position from April 1, 2025 until December 31, 2028
(part-time, 65%, 25.89 hours per week).
The Collaborative Research Centre 1252 “Prominence in Language” is a
dynamic research environment with 20 research projects in linguistics
and related fields. Our vision is to investigate prominence relations
in larger discourse segments and dialogue. More information can be
found here: https://sfb1252.uni-koeln.de/en/
The project C10 is partly based in Cologne (project leader Cologne
Prof. Dr. Sophie Repp & postdoctoral researcher) and partly in Hamburg
(project leader Hamburg Prof. Dr. Stefan Hinterwimmer & doctoral
position to be filled). The aim of the project is to gain a better
understanding of the principles governing anaphoric reference to
propositions in negative sentences.
We are looking for a doctoral researcher with an interest in semantic
and pragmatic theories as well as experimental methods such as
acceptability judgments, forced choice and text completion.
The application deadline is 27.01.2025. Further information on the
requirements and the application procedure can be found here:
