2nd Call for Papers:
Meeting Description:
The International Conference on the Structure of Hungarian is a
meeting organized biannually for linguists working on or having an
interest in any linguistically relevant synchronic or diachronic
aspect of the Hungarian language, approached from theoretical and
empirical perspectives.
The 17th ICSH conference will be hosted by the University of Debrecen
on 11-12 June 2025. ICSH17 will be accompanied by a special Workshop
on New Insights on Demonstratives (NID2025), to be hosted at the same
venue on 13 June.
Second Call for Papers:
Abstracts are solicited for presentations that make a contribution to
our understanding of the structure of Hungarian and linguistic theory,
including any synchronic or diachronic aspect of syntax and
morphology, phonology and phonetics, semantics and pragmatics, as well
as their interfaces. Both theoretically and empirically oriented
submissions are welcome, including experimental, psycholinguistic and
corpus-linguistic treatments of linguistic issues of theoretical
relevance. Submissions that analyze Hungarian data from a comparative
cross-linguistic perspective are particularly encouraged. We also
welcome work that has a general theoretical focus, as well as work
with a broader empirical scope involving data from several languages,
as long as Hungarian is included in the discussion.
The main session will consist of 30-minute talks (excluding Q&A), and
a few short, 15-minute talks are also planned. Submissions will be
considered by default for 30-minute talks, unless otherwise indicated
during the submission process.
Invited Speakers:
Main session:
Ora Matushansky (SFL, Centre National de la Recherche
Scientifique/Université Paris 8)
Markus Pöchtrager (Universität Wien)
Thematic workshop (NID2025):
Elsi Kaiser (University of Southern California)
