Call Deadline: 31-Jan-2025

2nd Call for Papers:
This is the second Call for Papers for the 8th ‘Rencontres Autour de
la Linguistique Formelle’ (RALFe 2025), which will be held at the
University of Lille (France) from June 5 to June 6, 2025.
Since it was first organized in 2010 – originally under the name
‘Rencontres d’Automne de Linguistique Formelle’ – RALFe has
established itself as one of the leading conferences on the formal
study of language organized annually in France, welcoming
contributions on phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and
pragmatics, as well as on topics situated at the interfaces between
these various modules.
RALFe 2025 IS organized by the lab ‘Savoirs, Textes, Langage’ (STL,
UMR 8163), hosted at the University of Lille. The confirmed invited
speakers for the conference are:
    • Henriëtte de Swart (Utrecht University)
    • Caterina Donati (Université Paris Cité/Laboratoire de
Linguistique Formelle)
    • Pavel Iosad (University of Edinburgh)
We now invite abstract submissions for oral and poster presentations.
Submissions may be couched in any formal theoretical framework. Apart
from purely theoretical studies, we also encourage submissions
adopting an experimental approach, as well as those that address
topics related to language acquisition, lesser-studied language
varieties and sign languages.
Oral presentations will be 20 minutes long, followed by 10 minutes of
discussion. Abstracts should be anonymous and no longer than two A4
pages, including tables, figures and examples, in 12-point Times New
Roman, with margins of at least 2,5 cm / 1 inch. Bibliographical
references may be added on a separate page.
Abstracts are to be submitted in pdf format via the platform
SciencesConf, which can be accessed at
https://ralfe2025.sciencesconf.org/submission/submit. Please indicate
whether you want your submission to be considered for RALFe or for the
associated workshop on historical linguistics, DELPASIMO 3, which will
be held on June 4, and for which there exists a separate Call for
Papers.
Submissions for the conference are limited to a maximum of one
individual and one joint abstract per author (RALFe 2025 and DELPASIMO
3 combined).
The deadline for submission of abstracts is January 31, 2025.
Notification of acceptance: March 10, 2025.
The conference organizers are Lieven Danckaert, Luca Gasparri, Cédric
Patin, Christopher Piñón, Gerhard Schaden and Tanja Temmerman. For any
further inquiries, they can be contacted at ralfe2025 at univ-lille.fr.
More information about RALFe 2025 and the associated workshop is
