We invite researchers and educators with an interest in CLIL (CBLT) to
submit an abstract for a 20-minute
oral presentation to be delivered in person at Tohoku University or
online through a video presentation.
Submissions are welcome on any topic related to CLIL, including but
not limited to:
- CLIL theory and practice
- CLIL methodology
- CLIL materials development
- CLIL pedagogy
- Assessment in CLIL.
- AI and CLIL
- The role of translanguaging in CLIL
- Integrating digital tools in CLIL
- CLIL teacher education and professional development
- ntercultural competence in CLIL
- Subject-specific CLIL approaches (e.g., STEM, humanities, social
sciences)
- Collaboration between language and subject teachers in CLIL
- Challenges and solutions in CLIL implementation
The conference is a bilingual conference and papers may be presented
in either English or Japanese.
Proposal Format:
Abstracts can be submitted in the language you would like to present
in, either Japanese or English.
Abstracts should include the presentation title and should be a
maximum of 250 words (English) or a
maximum of 600 characters in Japanese. Please send your abstract using
the Google form below.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is July 11th, 2025.
Contributors will be notified via e-mail by July 31st, 2025, regarding
the acceptance of their proposal.
Qualifications for Presenters:
All primary presenters must be members of J-CLIL. Co-presenters do not
have to be members but must
register for the conference if they plan to attend. Membership costs
2,000 yen for a year.

Presentation Types:
Onsite Presentation
Papers (25 minutes):
- Presentations sharing research findings and practical ideas.
- Includes time for 5 minutes of Q&A.
Online Presentation
Papers (20 minutes):
- Pre-recorded presentations explaining research findings and
practical ideas.
- Available online for conference participants to watch at their
convenience, either during or after the
conference, until October 18th.
- Participants can ask questions to online video presenters through a
Google form.
