Focus: PhD students are the main target audience, but the courses are
not restricted to them and are open to a professional audience that
wants to keep up to date.

AREA 1: FORMAL AND EXPERIMENTAL LINGUISTICS
Course 1: Phonology and L2 spoken word recognition – Miquel Llompart
(Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona)
Course 2: Relating syntactic variation, diachronic change and language
acquisition – Esther Rinke (Goethe-Universität, Frankfurt)
Course 3: Assessment of linguistic development with a special focus on
oral and written narratives – Aida Cardoso, Joana Batalha & Maria Lobo
(Universidade NOVA de Lisboa)
AREA 2: TERMINOLOGY AND LEXICOGRAPHY
Course 1: The Lexical Priming Theory – how a new theory of words and
lexicon provided an explanation for corpus-based observations –
Michael Pace-Sigge (University of Eastern Finland)
Course 2: Linguistic Linked Open Data approaches for Lexicography,
terminology and text corpora – David Lindemann (UPV/EHU, University of
the Basque Country)
Course 3: Structuring Unstructured Data for Effective Knowledge
Organization – Margarida Ramos (NOVA FCSH | CLUNL) – Limited to 15

AREA 3: GRAMMAR & TEXT
Course 1: Gender-fair language: current situation and challenges –

Course 2: Migrations, biographies and citizenship: discursive and
sociolinguistic entanglements – Clara Keating (Universidade de
Coimbra)
Course 3: Textual challenges in the digital age – Marta Fidalgo &

Tuition: 90€ / 120€ / 150€
Tuition Explanation: PhD Students enrolled in Doctoral Programs in
Linguistics, Translation and Terminology, or Languages Teaching –
Multilingualism and Education for a Global Citizenship at NOVA FCSH:

PhD Students enrolled in any Doctoral Program at NOVA: 1st course.
FREE; other courses: 50€ each
