Meeting Description:
UKLVC is a biennial conference that showcases international research
on language variation and change, sociolinguistics, and dialectology,
as well as applications of these branches of linguistics to a variety
of different fields. We seek to foster diversity in theoretical and
methodological approaches to the study of language variation in all of
its forms and across a wide range of linguistic and cultural contexts.
We welcome research on spoken and sign languages. The languages of the
conference will be English and British Sign Language (BSL). Our
keynote presenters will be Gabrielle Hodge, University of Edinburgh;
Christian Ilbury, University of Edinburgh; Sophie Meekings, University
of York.
We have now extended the deadline for abstracts until 28th March 2025.
