Description:

The Department of English seeks a candidate for a tenure-track
Assistant Professor of English with a specialty in Linguistics
beginning August 18, 2025. The teaching workload is 3/3 with an
additional 3 hours of reassigned research time.
This position will support undergraduate and graduate programming in
English and the TESOL certificate.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sociolinguistics and
related areas (existing courses, such as Sociolinguistics, History of
English, Discourse and Power).
- Develop innovative curriculum that reflect current trends and
technologies in linguistics.
- Conduct and publish original research in sociolinguistics, with an
emphasis on computational approaches.
- Advise and mentor students in their academic and research pursuits.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service,
including committee work and outreach
-The department encourages collaboration with other departments and
programs.
