We are pleased to announce the organization of the workshop
"Transcription of Low-Resource Languages: A Challenge to Overcome"
(LLCD 2025), which will take place as part of the second international
LLCD conference at the University of Lille, from September 1st to 3rd,
2025. This workshop aims to strengthen collaboration between linguists
and Natural Language Processing (NLP) specialists to optimize the
transcription and analysis of low-resource languages, with a focus on
interdisciplinary, methodological, and ethical challenges.
We invite the scientific community to submit proposals for
presentations on the following topics:
- Transcription and interoperability
- Adaptation of NLP tools for low-resource languages
- Linguistic and cultural issues
- Ethical and legal challenges in data sharing
Submission Guidelines:
- Proposals should be no more than 500 words (examples included,
references excluded).
- They must clearly present the title, research questions, approach,
methodology, (expected) results, and the name of the workshop.
- Proposals will undergo anonymous peer review. Therefore, abstracts
must not contain any information revealing the authors' identity
(name, affiliation, address, bibliographic references).
Submissions must be made via the EasyChair platform:
https://llcd2025.sciencesconf.org/resource/page/id/7.
Presentation Format:
- Each presentation will last 20 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of
discussion.
Important Dates:
- Deadline for abstract submission: March 30, 2025
- Notification of acceptance: Early May 2025
- Conference dates: September 1st to 3rd, 2025
We look forward to receiving a wide range of proposals for this
interdisciplinary workshop, which will be an opportunity to advance
research on low-resource languages and strengthen collaborations
between linguists and NLP specialists.
We hope to see you at the workshop!
