Description:

PhD Position in Experimental Pragmatics (from October 2025)
We seek to fill a doctoral position in experimental pragmatics (50%,
19.92 hours/week) from October 01, 2025 until September 30, 2028.
Salary is determined following the salary scale E 13 according to
German TVL. You will join the team of Prof. Petra Schumacher and carry
out research in the Experimental Linguistics in Cologne (XLinC) Lab
(https://xlinc.phil-fak.uni-koeln.de).
Your tasks
 - Development and implementation of linguistic studies in the field
of experimental pragmatics or reference research
 - Evaluation and visualization of experimental data
 - Collaboration in the interpretation, presentation and publication
of research results
 - Own research on experimental pragmatics with the aim of a doctorate
 - Teaching one course (2 SWS) per semester
 - Administrative support
Your profile
 - M.A. degree in linguistics or a related discipline
 - Very good knowledge of semantics and pragmatics
 - Very good knowledge of experimental methods; experience with
electrophysiology is a plus
 - Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and experience with R
 - Efficient and results-oriented working style
 - High proficiency in German and English
 - Team-oriented
