We invite proposals for oral presentation sessions as part of SALC10
in Umeå, on 23-25 June 2026 (https://www.salc10.com/ ). The theme of
the conference is Language, Cognition, and Learning.  While
contributions directly addressing this theme are particularly
encouraged, the conference also welcomes papers on language and
cognition more broadly.
Topics for oral presentations may include (but are not limited to):
 - Language acquisition and cognition
 - Cognitive perspectives on education and learning practices
 - Discourse, metaphor, and learning
 - Language and cognitive development and evolution
 - Embodied cognition
 - Neuro- and psycholinguistic approaches to language and cognition
 - Language and cognition
 - Discourse and cognition
 - Metaphor, metonymy, and cognition
 - Language change and cognition
 - Multicultural communication and cognition
 - Perception, cognition, and language
 - Language and consciousness
 - Language and gesture
 - Linguistic typology and cognition
 - Translation and cognition
 - Cognitive impairment and language use
The time allocation is 20 minutes followed by 5 minutes for discussion
per presentation.
Abstract submissions need to include:
 - Title of presentation
 - Name and affiliation of speaker(s)
 - Abstract of 400 words (excluding references)
There is no limit to the number of authors on a paper, and individuals
may contribute to multiple submissions. The submission deadline is 30
November 2025.  The abstracts will undergo anonymous peer review by
our scientific committee, and notifications will be sent out by the
15th of February 2026.
The conference will also include the following theme sessions.
Contributions related to these sessions are also welcome and will be
