We warmly invite colleagues and researchers to the 2026 Joint
ALAA–ALANZ–ALTAANZ Conference, hosted at The University of Queensland
in Brisbane.
Keynote speakers:
 - Prof Joseph Lo Bianco
 - Prof Rawinia Higgins
 - Prof Ute Knoch and Principal Fellow (Emerita) Cathie Elder
 - Dr Carly Steele
This special joint conference marks the 50th anniversary of ALAA,
bringing together scholars from Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, Asia,
and across the globe to reflect on the evolving trajectories of
applied linguistics. The event will celebrate the diverse conceptual,
methodological, and real-world paths shaping our field while fostering
new connections and future directions.
The call for abstracts is open, closing Monday 18th May, 2026.
We welcome proposals for papers, colloquia, and posters.
