Subject: MiMo Language Analysis App
I'm pleased to share my new free and open-source language analysis
app, MiMo: https://github.com/nickriches/MiMoShinyLive.
It's aimed at both speech and language therapists and students of
language acquisition more generally. The app replicates key features
of CLAN, such as automatic calculation of MLU, but without the steep
learning curve. It also provides a user-friendly way to explore
linguistic data, e.g. colour-coding word classes, searching for
particular words, and plotting normative data. It can analyse data on
over 60 languages.
If you follow the instructions on the front page, you should be able
to complete a basic analysis in under 10 minutes.
MiMo runs as a web app, but there are also options to run it locally.
Because it uses WebAssembly, no data leaves your browser, keeping it
safe and secure.
Please do give it a go. I'd love to hear how you get on! (alternative
email address for correspondence: nick.riches at gmail.com)
