>From Arabia to Central Asia and eastward to Oceania, the Asia Pacific
Region is known for its mosaic of peoples, languages, cultures,
traditions, geographies, narratives, histories, and contemporary
challenges. This region is home to ancient civilizations, major
religions, artistic realizations, linguistic tapestries, mythologies,
philosophies, and various human pursuits and achievements. It is from
this region that the humanities is more vibrant and plays a primordial
role in framing, interpreting, and visualizing identities,
experiences, and challenges of this distinct and extensive area. It is
the aim of this conference to offer a more vibrant and scholarly
perspective in tracing classical legacies, revisiting colonial
experiences, examining holistic significance, and bringing the
humanities to the fore and beyond.
In this second conference, we are calling for abstracts and papers
that deal with these fields from humanities and the allied studies in
Asia and the Pacific Region, namely, arts, anthropology, music,
religion, linguistics, literature, history, philosophy, performance
studies, and other allied disciplines. As such, we welcome
interdisciplinary approaches that challenge paradigms, frameworks, and
perspectives on the humanities in Asia Pacific that include these
topics, but not limited to:
- Cultural heritage, preservation, and innovation
- Digital humanities and literacies
- Education and public humanities
- Environmental humanities and climate justice
- Gender, sexuality, and identity politics
- Humanities and health sciences
- Indigenous knowledges and epistemologies
- Language, linguistics, literature, and translation in the region
- Law, forensics, and legal humanities
- Mainland and insular transformations
- Film, social and broadcast media
- Migration, diaspora, and transnationalism
- Religion, ritual, and philosophy
