Description:
The Department of Comparative and Contrastive Linguistics, Division of
Humanities, Graduate School of Humanities, The University of Osaka,
conducts education and research in a broad range of linguistics.
The Department is seeking an academic staff member who can contribute
to academic English education and to education and research in one of
linguistic fields. We welcome applications from scholars with a broad
academic perspective, intellectual flexibility, and extensive
experience in international academic exchange and collaboration.
Work Content and Job Description:
(1) Education
a. Teaching academic English courses in the Graduate School of
Humanities and the School of Letters
c. Teaching English courses offered as university-wide general
education courses
d. Teaching other specialized courses offered by the Graduate School
of Humanities relevant to the applicant’s field of specialization
(2) Research
a. Conducting research in one or more of the following fields: any
subfield of linguistics or English linguistics, including but not
limited to phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics,
pragmatics, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and first or second
language acquisition; foreign language education; and English
literature or literature in the English language.
(3) Other duties
a. Engaging in community outreach and university-society collaboration
activities
b. Contributing to administrative duties in the Graduate School of
Humanities, the School of Letters, and The University of Osaka
