Subject: Participants Needed: Native English-Speaking Learners of Intermediate French for an L2 Pragmatics Study

I am a PhD candidate in French Linguistics at the University of Texas
at Austin conducting dissertation research on L2 French pragmatics. I
am currently seeking participants for a study examining learners’
metapragmatic awareness and interpretation of French discourse
markers.
French instructors teaching upper-division courses are warmly
encouraged to share this information with their students.
Eligibility:
- native English-speaking learners of French
- currently enrolled in 5th–7th semester French courses at a U.S.
university
- ages 18–30
- not Spanish-English bilingual
- less than one year spent in a francophone country
The study takes approximately 45–70 minutes to complete online.
Participants whose data meet inclusion criteria will receive $20
compensation.
If you are interested, please contact me at acarte28 at utexas.edu, and I
will send you the study link and additional information.
Thank you very much for your support!
