We invite you to participate in the workshop “L1 – Curriculum Models
and Current Practices”, organized within the framework of the 26th
International Conference of the Department of Linguistics.
 - Date: November 13–14, 2026
 - Venue: University of Bucharest, Faculty of Letters, 5–7 Edgar
Quinet Street, Bucharest, Romania
 - Language of presentation: Romanian and English
 - Invited speaker: Simona Grigoraș, teacher at European School
Brussels IV

 - Participation fee: 300 RON (€60) for university staff; 150 RON
(€30) for PhD students and pre-university teachers
Workshop Objectives:
The workshop aims to explore curriculum models and current practices
in L1 education, focusing on:
 - the relationship between knowledge and competences
 - the integration of language, literature, and literacy
 - the challenges generated by contemporary societal transformations
Contributions with comparative, interdisciplinary, or
practice-oriented perspectives are encouraged.
Topics of Interest (open list)
 - Curriculum models for L1 from a comparative perspective
 - Transnational frameworks for L1
 - Competence-based vs. knowledge-based L1 curricula
 - The impact of globalization, digitalization, and diversity on L1
 - Integration of language, literature, and literacy in the curriculum
 - The teacher as a curriculum-maker
 - The role of L1 in identity and cultural formation
 - Tensions between disciplinary knowledge and “new literacies”
 - Innovative teaching practices aligned with current curriculum
models
Types of Contributions:
1. Research Papers
 - 30 minutes (including 10 minutes for discussion)
 - Proposals must include:
    - an abstract of maximum 300 words (excluding references)
    - font size 12, line spacing 1.5, margins 2.5 cm
2. Posters
 - 15 minutes (including discussion)
 - Proposals must include:
    - an abstract of maximum 150 words (excluding references)
    - font size 12, line spacing 1.5, margins 2.5 cm
All proposals must include contact details (name, affiliation, email)
and a short biography (approx. 50 words) for each author.
