CIDL26 aims to cover a very broad range of topics, spanning various
fields and directions of research into the Romanian language and, more
generally, into linguistics. The focus of the current edition is
bridging empirical data and theoretical models. Abstracts no longer
than 500 words should be submitted by 15 September 2026 to the address
colocviu.lingvistica.2026 at gmail.com. Please, use the participation
form uploaded to the conference website. Notification of acceptance
will be sent by 1 October 2026.
Keynote Speakers:
Martin Haspelmath (Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology,
Leipzig)
Adam Ledgeway (University of Bergamo)
Susanne Michaelis (University of Leipzig & Max Planck Institute for
Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig)
Franz Rainer (Vienna University of Economics and Business)
Papers will be presented in the following sections:
- morphology, syntax, phonetics, and phonology;
- pragmatics, stylistics, sociolinguistics;
- lexicology and lexicography, semantics, and terminology;
- historical linguistics, philology, and dialectology;
- computational linguistics and digitalization of linguistic
resources;
- foreign language teaching (Romanian or other languages).
Two workshops will take place during the conference:
Workshop 1: L1 – Curriculum models and current practices, convenors:
Florentina Sâmihăian & Andrea Ghiță
Workshop 2: Romanian in the Romance Typological Landscape, convenors:
Adina Dragomirescu & Alexandru Nicolae
Conference languages: Romanian, English and French.
Presentations will be alloted 30 minutes slots (20 minutes for the
presentation and 10 minutes for discussions).
The conference will be held in-person only.
Registration fee: 60 euros / 300 RON for faculty members, 30 euros /
150 RON for doctoral students.
