The LexESP Research Group at the University of Alicante is pleased to
announce the International Conference on Language, Nutrition and
Health, to be held in November 2026. The event is organized within the
framework of the research project Clear Labels, Healthy Choices:
Literacy, Bilingual Resources and Community Empowerment, which
explores clarity, transparency, and effectiveness in food-related
communication.
In contemporary societies, food labeling, nutritional guidelines, and
health communication play a crucial role in shaping consumer behavior,
public health outcomes, and regulatory practices. Yet the language
used to convey nutritional information is often complex, technical,
culturally embedded, and sometimes misleading. This conference seeks
to bring together scholars and professionals to examine how language
mediates knowledge about nutrition and health across institutional,
professional, and public domains.
We welcome contributions from researchers working in linguistics,
discourse analysis, terminology, translation studies, health
communication, public health, law, marketing, cognitive science, and
related fields.
