The 2026 Annual Conference of the Linguistic Society of New Zealand
will be hosted by Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington
at the Kelburn campus on 7-8 December 2026, followed by a workshop day
on 9 December.
Plenary talks will be given by Associate Professor Lynn Clark (Te
Whare Wānanga o Waitaha – University of Canterbury) and Associate
Professor Awanui Te Huia (Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāi Tūhoe; Kairangahau
matua, Te Wānanga o Aotearoa; Adjunct, Te Herenga Waka). There will
also be a workshop facilitated by Associate Professor Amanda Huensch
(University of Pittsburgh) on 9 December.
The conference aims to provide a forum for the discussion of all
linguistic research in Aotearoa-New Zealand. We welcome abstracts for
presentations addressing any topic in linguistics.
Linguistics students at New Zealand universities are especially
encouraged to submit.
