Les Jornades de Lingüística Catalana a Viena (JLCV) són un simposi
anual que recull les recerques més recents en l'àrea de la lingüística
del català. La vuitena edició de les Jornades de Lingüística Catalana
a Viena se celebrarà del 21 al 22 de maig de 2027 i tindrà com a tema
la Redundància i la Deficiència, dos conceptes definits per Onea et
al. (2023) i presentats en aquest article de la següent manera
concisa:
- Redundància: realització d'una operació, encara que l'input
contingui trets superflus.
- Deficiència: realització d'una operació, malgrat que l'input no
contingui els trets necessaris perquè sigui realitzada.
Les presentacions poden tractar de qualsevol àmbit de la lingüística
formal, amb especial consideració de les interfícies
(sintaxi-morfologia/fonologia, sintaxi-semàntica, sintaxi-pragmàtica,
etc.) i de discordances entre mòduls, com ara (i) operacions
sintàctiques que no són realitzades a la forma fonològica o a la forma
lògica (Redundància), e.g. efectes de sincretisme o de sinonímia, o
(ii) operacions a les interfícies que no semblen tenir un origen en la
sintaxi (Deficiència), e.g. ambigüitat sintàctica, efectes pragmàtics;
tant des de perspectives sincròniques, com diacròniques. També es
consideraran propostes que treballin amb les definicions de
Redundància i Deficiència de Kallulli & Roberts (2026), però demanem
que s'indiquin de manera explícita, ja que difereixen de les
establertes a Onea et al. (2023).
També ens plau d'anunciar la presència dels següents ponents
convidats:
- Josep Ausensi (Universitat Rovira i Virgili, ROLLING)
- Elena Pagliarini (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, CLT)

The Jornades de Lingüística Catalana a Viena is an annual symposium
held at the University of Vienna that applies recent discoveries in
the area of theoretical linguistics to the study of Catalan. The 8th
edition of the Jornades de Lingüística Catalana a Viena will take
place from the 21st to the 22nd of May 2027. The topic will be
centered around Redundancy and Deficiency, two concepts defined in
Onea et al. (2023) as follows:
- Redundancy = the output of an operation is insensitive to some
feature specified in the input
- Deficiency = an operation that presupposes a certain feature applies
to a grammatical entity that lacks it
Presentations may be held on any area of formal linguistics, with
special regard (but not limited) to interface phenomena
(syntax-morphology/phonology, syntax-semantics, syntax-pragmatics,
etc.) and mismatches between modules, like (i) syntactic operations
that are invisible at PF or LF (Redundancy), such as syncretism
phenomena or synonymy, or (ii) operations at the interfaces that do
not appear to be dependent on the syntactic input (Deficiency), e.g.
syntactic ambiguity, pragmatic effects, and the like. Both synchronic
and diachronic approaches are welcome, as well as those proposals
working along the definitions of Redundancuy and Deficiency given in
Kallulli & Roberts (2025/2026), although we ask to make this explicit
in the abstracts as their definition differs somewhat from that in
Onea et al. (2023).
We are also pleased to announce the participation of the following
