Call for Papers:
We are pleased to announce that KU Leuven (Belgium) will host the 9th
conference of the International Society for the Linguistics of English
(isLE9), from 24 May – 27 May 2027. The conference website is
https://isle9conference.com/.
We invite abstracts for full papers and posters on any topic in
English linguistics. Submissions relevant to the conference theme
("Symmetries and asymmetries" – see the conference website for a
definition) are especially welcome. Note that all presenters need to
be members of ISLE prior to or at registration for the conference (not
a member yet? Visit https://www.isle-linguistics.org/join). Abstract
submission closes on 1 November 2026. Notifications will be sent out
in mid-January 2027.
Abstracts must be submitted via https://www.conftool.pro/isle9-2027/.
You will be requested to submit a plain-text abstract of max. 700
words, references included (max. 500 words for the abstract, up to 200
words for references). Abstracts should clearly state research
question(s), approach, data, method and (expected) results. Authors
may submit a maximum of two abstracts if at least one of these is
co‐authored.
Submitters eligible for ISLE Early Career Researcher grants (for
eligibility criteria see
https://isle9conference.com/early-career-researchers-ecrs/) can apply
by submitting their CVs along with their abstracts.
