Le traitement automatique des Noms propres

L'Association pour le Traitement automatique des langues (l'Atala) organise
chaque annee cinq journees d'etudes sur un theme particulier. Ces journees
sont placees sous la responsabilite d'un membre de l'association et se
deroule a Paris. Les communications se font en francais ou en anglais.

La journee du samedi 29 mai 1999 sera consacree au Traitement automatique
des Noms propres sous toutes ses formes. Nous esperons pouvoir publier tout
ou partie de la journee sous forme d'actes. Nous souhaitons donc recevoir
des propositions de communication sur le sujet incluant, de maniere non
limitative :

* La constitution de dictionnaires electroniques de noms propres

* Le traitement automatique de la morphologie des noms propres

* La reconnaissance et l'etiquetage automatique des noms propres dans un texte

* Les aspects computationnels de la syntaxe, de la semantique ou de la
pragmatique des noms propres

* La recherche et l%extraction automatique d'informations a l'aide des noms
propres

* etc.

Les propositions sont a envoyer, si possible par courrier electronique,
pour la fin mars,  a Denis Maurel (mailto: maurel at univ-tours.fr) sous le
format Word, RTF ou texte. Sinon par courrier postal (Denis Maurel, LI/E3i,

Workshop on
The Automatic Analysis of Proper Name

Saturday, May 29th, 1999

Organizers: Denis Maurel and Franz Guenthner

The Association pour le traitement automatique des langues (Atala)
organises five meetings per year on specific topics in Natural Language
Processing. These meetings are proposed and organized by members of the
association and they take place in Paris. The language of the contributions
is French or English.

They will be a workshop on various aspects of the computational treatment
of Proper name on Saturday, May 29th, 1999. We intend to publish the
contribution to this workshop in the form of proceedings. Contribution are
invited on the topics below as well as on other related subjects:

* The construction of electronic dictionaries of proper names

* The morphological analysis of proper names

* The recognition and tagging of proper names in texts

* Computational aspect of the syntax, semantics or pragmatics of proper names

* Applications of the treatment of proper names to information retrieval,
information extraction, text mining

* etc.

Abstracts of contributions should be sent, preferably by e-mail, by March
31st, to Denis Maurel (mailto:maurel at univ-tours.fr) in MS-Word, RTF or
Ascii form. Non electronic-submission should be sent to Denis Maurel,
