TWO POSITIONS IN TEXT MINING at the National Centre for Text Mining
(NaCTeM) / University of Manchester

 

 

A.  One Research Associate is required for two (2) years to work on the
project ASSERT. 

The aim of this project is to develop a summarisation system based on
Text Mining techniques to support the compilation of systematic reviews
in the social sciences.

 

Applicants should have a first degree and/or a postgraduate degree in
Computer Science or a closely related field.  Experience should
preferably include developing algorithms and software for text mining
systems, summarisation, clustering, and the ability to conduct
experiments for text mining applications using large data sets.
Excellent knowledge of C, C++, Java, Windows and Linux is required.

B.  One Research Associate is required for two (2) years to integrate
text mining software to enable service provision within NaCTeM.

Applicants should have a first degree in Computer Science or related
area, with significant experience in software integration, software
design and development methods, and excellent knowledge of C, C++, Java
and XML, Linux, Windows.  

Knowledge of text mining and GRID computing would be an advantage.
