POST-DOC OPENING
IN STATISTICAL MACHINE TRANSLATION
AT LIMSI-CNRS, FRANCE

The "Spoken Language Processing" team at LIMSI-CNRS, Orsay (25 km south
of Paris) is seeking qualified postdoctoral researchers in the field of
Statistical Machine Translation (SMT).

The main task of the candidate will be to design, implement and evaluate
innovative models and associated training and inference procedures for
components of statistical machine translation systems. These models will
be used to improve LIMSI's machine translation toolbox. Other areas in
which we have a strong interest are model adaptation, confidence
measures and automatic evaluation metrics.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team working on

Candidates are expected to hold an Engineering BSc/Msc degree and a PhD
in Computer Science. Knowledge of statistical or example-based
approaches for Speech or Natural Language Processing is required; the
candidate is also expected to have strong programmation skills, to be
familiar with statistical machine learning techniques, and have a good
publication record in the field. Experience with statistical machine
translation systems and/or participation in large-scale open evaluations
(NIST, IWSLT etc.) will be a strong advantage.

The minimum remuneration will be EUR 2000 (net income) per month. A
contract of one year will be awarded.
