Dear Lowlanders,

The new list server seems to have come back to life, although the archive page
is still down.  So far, LL-L issues beginning May 29 have been sent out
belatedly.  Most of you already received these via the old server, so I ask
those to ignore them.  The issues between May 24 and May 29 do not seem to have
gone through the new server, so I am resending for the benefit of the few who
have been subscribed only via the new server and also for the sake of
archiving.  Please just delete them if you received them via the old server.

While the new server is now doing its distributing again after being down due to
a serious hacker attack on the computer system at the University of
Pennsylvania, some of the functions apparently still do not work.  This includes
access to the archive web pages and subscriber-controlled functions such as
unsubscribing and setting to digest or vacation mode.  Please give it another
day or so.  Hopefully we will be fully back in business by then.
