scheldwoord. De Antwerpse cafébaas Joris Van den Eynde zou die term gebruikt
hebben tegen twee agenten, die in zijn taverne de decibels kwamen meten. Hij
werd zopas wegens smaad veroordeeld tot 8 dagen cel en een boete van 5000
frank...
Joris Van den Eynde is medebeheerder van het café "De Trein der Traagheid",
niet ver van de Antwerpse Stadswaag...
Begin jaren negentig kreeg Van den Eynde wegens nachtlawaai geregeld de
politie over de vloer. Op 31 october 1993 voerde de politie opnieuw een
kontrole uit ... en deze keer kwam de zaak wel voor de correctionele
rechtbank...
... veroordeelde de eerste rechter hem.. tot .. acht dagen cel en 5000 frank
voor smaad.
Van den Eynde ging in beroep ... Zijn advocaat pleitte... dat men niet zo
zwaar aan die term moet tillen. Want "___paljaske___" kan ook vertederend
worden gebruikt.
De twee agenten werden door het hof van beroep op de rooster gelegd, maar ze
bleven bij hun verhaal. "Het was duidelijk dat hij ons ten aanzien van het
aanwezige publiek belachelijk wilde maken", verklaarde een agent.
Dat de term kwetsend werd gebruikt was voor het hof duidelijk. "Het woord
staat gelijk met ___hansworst___ of ___pias___. De beklaagde heeft geen
respect getoond voor een politieman, die zijn plicht deed", klonk het
streng. Het hof van beroep gaf Van den Eynde hetzelfde tarief als in eerste
aanleg.

Unfortunately this kind of events pumps up our Antwerp downtown criminality
statistics (as well as our tax rates for financing the judicial system).
