Not in Shetlandic, however, where you get e.g. hail [he at l], with velarised
[l], but hael (meaning 'whole', pronounced variously [hel], [hEIl], [hil],
according to regular shifts of [e] before voiced consonants)with
palatalised [l].

To add to Andy's list of metathesised words, you get 'scrat' and 'scart'
(scratch) in different parts of Scotland.
