För dat Jahr 2000 schrifft de Freudenthal-Gesellschaft to'n 44. Maal den
Freudenthal-Pries för de best plattdüütsch Arbeid ut (Poesie un Prosa).

De Pries ward elk Johr geven.  De Winner kriggt DM 5,000 (stiftt vun de
Kreissparkasse Soltau).

Saaken schüllen dat tominnst fief Texten wesen, bi groote Arbeiden - so as
Novell oder Speel - langt een Text. Alltohoop droevt dat nich mehr as 25
Schrievmaschinensieden DIN A4 mit ca. 40 Reegen pro Siet ween. All de
Texten moet fiefmol vörliggen.

2.  Wat inschickt ward, droevt nich den Naam vun'n Autor oder de Autorin
dräägen, nee, dat mutt een Kennwoord hebben. In eenen Extra-Breefümslag, de
buten dat sülve Kennwoord un de Opschrift ,,Freudenthal-Pries 2000''
driggt, sund Naam, Adreß un Telefon-Nummer antogeven.

3.  Wokeen sik bewarven deit, is inverstahn, dat een Textsortiment bi de
Freudenthal-Gesellschaft blifft un een anner de Redaktschoonen vun't
_Klaus-Groth-Johrbook_ (Heide) un vun de Tiedschrift _Quickborn_ (Hamborg)
to sehn kriegt.  Dat Copyright för de Priesarbeiden liggt bi de

FREUDENTHAL PRIZE 2000

In the year 2000, the Freudenthal Society will be awarding the 44th
Freudenthal Prize for Low German (Low Saxon) literature (poetry and prose).

The Prize is awarded annually.  The winner will be awarded DM 5.000
(donated by the Soltau District Savings Bank).

Submissions must be sent by May 2000 to:

It is tradition to hold the award ceremony on the last Saturday of
September.  This year (2000), it will be held on September 30 at 5 p.m. in
the Theeshof in Sneverdingen/Schneverdingen, to launch the 19th Low German
Week of Salta/Soltau.

Rules of participation:

(1)  Only previously unpublished poems, short stories, radio plays or
theater plays may be submitted. Each participant should submit a minimum of
five short works or one long work (e.g., a novella or a play).  There
should be no more than 25 typed A4-sized pages with 40 lines per page
total.  Five copies must be provided of each submission.

(2)  The author's name must not be visible anywhere on his/her submitted
work.  Instead, each submission must have a code word.  The author's name,
address and telephone number must be provided in an enclosed sealed
envelope that is labeled with the same code word and with the line
"Freudenthal-Pries 2000".

(3)  Each participating author is assumed to agree that one copy of his/her
work remain in the possession of the Freudenthal Society and that another
copy be submitted to the editors of the periodicals _Klaus-Groth-Johrbook_
(Heide) and _Quickborn_ (Hamborg/Hamburg).  The Freudenthal Society will
own the copyright for the winning work(s).

(4)  Those who have won the Freudenthal Prize may compete for the same
prize only after six years have passed.

(5) Those who have won the Freudenthal Prize are expected to provide the
Regional Library of the Freudenthal Society with copies of any books they
may publish.

(6) Those who have won the Freudenthal Prize are expected to do their best
to attend the award ceremony and to read or recite their works or parts
thereof at that function.
