Subject: Language varieties
> vun phoneemsch korte Vokalen is. Dat Nedderlandsche un dat > Neddersassische
> hebbt övereens, dat korte Vokalen vör /r/, /l/, /n/, /N/ un /m/ 'n beten
> länger wardt. In't Neddersassische wardt dat bie't "a" düüdlich, wieldat
> de Kwaliteet anners is. Dat echt lange "a" is meist 'n "o", avers dat
> verlängerte korte "a" blifft "hell"; t.B. _Kaan_ ~ _Kahn_ [kQ:n] 'barge' > vs
> _kann_ [ka.n] 'can' or _Karn_ [ka:n] 'kernel', 'nucleus'.
_Drai_ ~ _Dreih_ [dra.I] (turn, trick),
_maist_ ~ _meist_ [ma.Is(t)] (almost), _Been_ [bE.In] ~ [bE~.I~n] ~ [bE:In] ~
[bE~:I~n] (leg), _tain_ ~ _teihn_ [ta.In] ~ [ta~.I~n] ~ [ta:In] ~ [ta~:I~n]
(ten), _School_ [So.Ul] ~ [So:Ul] (school).
Is dat in nedderlandsche Dialekten ook so?
Gröten,
Reinhard/Ron
