For your information: the past participial prefix _e_ is also the normal
form in a lot of Zeelandic and West-Flemish dialects. On the isles of
Zuid-Beveland, Schouwen, Duiveland and Goeree it's the dominant form,
Noord-Beveland uses both _e_ and _ge_, and _ge_ is used on Walcheren (except
the village of Westkapelle), Tholen, St. Philipsland and Flakkee as well as in
Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. In West Flanders, the _e_ prefix is found in the south. In
French Flanders it's the dominant form.
Some Zeelandic dialects do not even use a prefix (mostly in verbs that start
with a vowel or a h, which is silent in Zeelandic and West-Flemish), e.g. in
Westkapelle and in some Zuid-Beveland, Schouwen and Duiveland dialects: "ei
jie 't 'aod?" (did you have it?); "'k è d'r nae 'keke" (I've looked at it);
"ao 't 'ouwe toen je 't ao" (you should've kept it while you had it).

Dear Lowlanders,
In many Low Saxon (Low German) dialects, certainly in most North Saxon ones,
past participial _ge-_ has disappeared. (It was used in older forms of the
language.) What is interesting is that in Northern Germany speakers of these
dialects often omit _ge-_ pretty much everywhere, including in nouns; e.g.,
(_Gelück_ >) _Glück_ ~ _Lück_ 'luck', 'happiness', (_gelücken_ >) _glücken_ ~
_lücken_ 'to succeed', (/ge-bour-d-s-dag/) _Geboortsdag_ ~ _Boortsdag_ ~
_Gebuurtsdag_ ~ _Buurtsdag_ 'birthday'. I don't know for sure if these are
cases of overcompensation or natural progression.
Regards,
Reinhard/Ron
