The dialect of Eupen is considered by Dutch linguists as the most
South-Eastern dialect variant of Dutch (based on the fact that it is
just North-Western of the maken-machen isogloss). This (Limburgish)
dialect coexists though with "German" as administrative language of the
area. When the speakers want to speak more "solemn" in this sketch, they
"naturally" switch to a more German variant.
