It may be interesting to note that this 'Meertens Instituut' is
the subject of the most voluminous novel ever written in Dutch
(and maybe in any other language as well). The seven volume,
> 5,000 page novel 'Het Bureau' describes the Institute and its
many employees from 1958 to 1987 in minute detail in which no-
one, not even the writer himself, is spared. The writer, J.J.
Voskuil (in the novel: 'Maarten Koning') was employed by this
institute during those years. I don't believe translations
exist (and doubt they ever will).
