The relevance of knowing and using the gender of a word is not a
question
for the common Dutch speaker in Belgium. Almost everybody uses the right
gender and feels immediately if somebody is wrong or not. That's a
difference comparing to the Netherlands. Nobody shall use "he" for a
door,
I'm sure of that.I suppose it has everything to do with the frequent
use of
our native tongue.
