Hoi allemaal,

A question:
Can an Afrikaner explain to me why most Germanic languages call a
Penguin, something close to Penguin, but in Afrikaans it is a "Pikkewyne?"
Is it possible that they look like they are "picking" their way forward and
possibly had too much wine to drink?
