For Your "Katteker" I would use the word "äikkóter" but we
understand "kate:ker" too.

No, Fiete. We call them "poegh" (sg), "poggen" (pl) (= frog) and "puer"
(sg) "puren" (pl) ( = toad). "Puerstaulen" are mushrooms,
"poghste:ertjes"
= tadpoles and "poggengludder" is frog's spawn.
We know somewhat similar sounding words like "ültjes" ( = peanuts),
"üelk"
(sg), "ülken (pl) ( = polecat) or "o:tje" (a nice and friendly minded
word
for an old lady).
