Ron skryf na aanleiding van Roger Thijs se vraag oor wat "Tov" in
"Mazel-Tov" beteken:
I guess it is possible that Dutch _tof_ was at least indirectly derived from
it.

In Afrikaans gebruik ons nog steeds die woord "optof". Dit beteken om goed
aan te trek vir
'n spesiale geleentheid.

Peter,

_Go raibh maith agat_ means "thanks". To more than one person, the form
should be _go raibh maith agaibh_, although this rule is often broken in
informal Irish these days, sadly. If you ever see _go raibh maith agatsa_ or
_go raibh maith agaibhse_ it's merely the above in the emphatic - again
rarely seen in spoken or written Irish these days.
